Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the SmartBuy Finds application handles, and what it does not. SmartBuy Finds is an independently operated automated project that discovers discounted products on the AliExpress marketplace and publishes curated recommendations to public social channels that we own and operate. See the project overview for a description of the application.

This policy covers both the SmartBuy Finds application and these public pages.

1. We do not collect personal data from you

SmartBuy Finds has no user accounts, no registration, no login and no sign-up form. We do not ask you for personal information and we have no way to receive it.

These pages are static. They set no cookies, run no analytics, and load no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers.
We do not build profiles of the people who view our posts, follow our channels, or engage with our Pins.
We do not sell, rent or share personal data, because we do not hold any.

2. What the application does process

Public product data. Product titles, images, prices, discounts and ratings retrieved from the official AliExpress affiliate product API. This is public commercial listing data, not personal data.
Our own API credentials. The access tokens and keys for the accounts we publish through are held as configuration on our own server, with restricted file permissions. They are never published, shared with third parties, or exposed on these pages.
Operational records. A log on our own server of what was published and when, so the same product is not posted twice and failures can be diagnosed. These records describe our own posts. They contain no third-party personal data.

3. Use of the Pinterest API

Scope of Pinterest access

SmartBuy Finds uses the Pinterest API for one purpose only: to publish Pins to a Pinterest account that we own and control, and to manage the boards on that account.

Access is granted by the account owner through the standard Pinterest OAuth flow, and we request only the permissions needed to create and manage our own boards and Pins.
We do not read, collect, store or process other Pinterest users and their personal data — including profiles, follower or following lists, private boards, or the content of other accounts.
We do not use Pinterest data for advertising, audience profiling, resale, data brokerage, or to train machine learning models.
We do not transfer Pinterest data to any third party.
Content we publish to Pinterest consists of the marketplace product image, the product name and price, and a link to the product listing.
Pinterest access tokens are stored as protected configuration on our own server and are never shared. The account owner can revoke our access at any time from Pinterest account settings, which immediately ends all API access.
The only Pinterest-derived information we retain is minimal metadata about our own posts — the Pin identifier, the board, the timestamp and which product it referred to — kept so that we do not publish duplicates. It is deleted on request or when no longer needed.

Our use of the Pinterest API is subject to the Pinterest Developer Guidelines and Terms of Service. Data obtained through the Pinterest API is used solely for the publishing function described above.

4. Other channels we publish to

SmartBuy Finds also publishes to a public Telegram channel that we operate. We do not collect, export or store data about the subscribers of that channel. The Telegram privacy policy governs your use of Telegram.

5. Affiliate links and outbound links

Disclosure

Some product links published by SmartBuy Finds are affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one, we may earn a commission from the marketplace at no additional cost to you.

An affiliate link carries a tracking parameter that lets the marketplace attribute a purchase to us. Any tracking that follows happens on the marketplace systems under its own privacy policy, not ours. We receive only aggregate commission reporting; we do not receive your identity, your contact details, or the details of what you personally bought.

When you follow a link from one of our posts you leave our control and enter a third-party website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of AliExpress or of any other site we link to. Please read their policies.

6. Data retention and security

Operational records and post metadata are held on our own server for as long as they are useful for de-duplication and diagnostics, and are deleted when they are not. Credentials are held with restricted access. Because we hold no personal data about viewers, there is no personal data of yours for us to retain, export or lose.

7. Children

SmartBuy Finds is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

8. Your rights

If you believe we hold data relating to you, or you want a published post reviewed or removed, contact us at the address below and we will respond. Where applicable law gives you rights of access, correction or erasure, we will honour them; in most cases the answer will be that we hold nothing about you.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. Material changes to how the application uses the Pinterest API will be reflected here.
